Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has completed a new 10,650-square-foot ski chalet at Spirit Mountain, a ski and snowboard recreation area in Duluth, Minn.
Originally built in 1974, Spirit Mountain has become a year-round recreation destination for locals and tourists alike.
The new building will serve as a building block for many operations, including a base area ski chalet and a venue for banquets and meetings. Designed by DSGW Architects of Duluth, the wood-frame chalet contains a large great room with a fireplace and an expanse of windows looking up the ski slope. Other features include the year-round Riverside Bar & Grill, an outdoor patio, ski patrol room, ski rental area and a new parking lot and bus drop-off area.
The total cost of the project, which includes a new “Spirit Express II” chairlift built by Spirit Mountain, is $7 million.
