North Valley Health Center in Warren, Minn., has been named one of the Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the United States by Soliant Health, a healthcare organization.
Located about 25 miles northeast of Grand Forks, N.D., North Valley Health Center was built by Kraus-Anderson Construction Company.
The 12-bed, critical access hospital and rural health clinic opened its doors to a new replacement facility less than one year ago, after more than two years of planning and construction.
“We are proud to receive this honor and to be among the top hospitals in the country,” said Ashley King, chief executive officer of North Valley Health Center, in a written statement. “Building this new replacement facility with the support of our exceptional communities ensures a legacy of quality healthcare where it is essential.”
Designed by Horty-Elving, the new building is double the size of the old facility and features high-tech equipment for patient care, spacious inpatient rooms with in-suite bathrooms, a large emergency care department with telemedicine capabilities and a drive-in emergency entrance. There is also an expansive physical therapy area, ample clinic rooms with new examination tables, innovative lab and radiology technology and more.
The building also features an atrium located at the heart of the facility with tall ceilings and high windows allowing for natural light, art work which reflects the agricultural values of the community, stone pillars designed with complimentary colors of the wheat and crops seen during harvest, and modern illuminated fixtures to showcase the state-of-the-art design of the entire structure.
