Kraus-Anderson Construction has completed a new $15.7 million 36,000-square-foot elementary school addition in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, just south of Spooner in Washburn County.
Kraus-Anderson, which worked with the School District of Shell Lake on educational facility and capital improvement planning, assisted in a community engagement campaign to successfully pass its referendum on April 3, 2018.
Designed by LHB Architects, Shell Lake School adds a new PK-2 elementary wing to the existing 3-12 facility. The project also includes improvements to the existing elementary/middle/high school building and grounds; classroom improvements and equipment acquisition; and a secured entry at the existing 3-12 school. The new addition will have an improved cafeteria space, and music, art and special education spaces.
The project also features renovations for Science, Art, Tech-Ed and Special Education; and new 12,000-square-foot gymnasium that serves as a multi-purpose space for athletics and performing arts.
