Kraus-Anderson has completed a new $30 million elementary school in Pipestone, Minnesota.
The 85,940-square-foot PK-5 school is an addition to the current middle school and high school building, consolidating all 1,150 of the district’s public school students into a single building, including 500 elementary school students who previously were split between two aging facilities.
In 2019, voters approved the district bond referendum project, which features a new gymnasium capable of simultaneously hosting three separate activities, classrooms, flex learning areas and offices for school staff and administration.
Designed by ISG Architects, the two-story building also includes a central visitor entrance providing school greater security, and an updated and expanded kitchen and cafeteria to accommodate the influx of new students. The project also reconfigured parking on the school campus.
