Kraus-Anderson’s Duluth office completed construction of the new Pool & Sauna Haus at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minnesota, an $11.8 million, 9,700-square-foot facility that expands the resort’s four-season amenities and enhances the guest experience.
Construction began in July of 2024 and concluded this summer.
Designed by RSP Architects, the Pool & Sauna Haus blends modern architectural design with the character of Minnesota’s Northwoods. Expansive windows flood the interior with natural light while offering stunning views of the Superior National Forest, creating a relaxing and immersive environment that connects guests with the region’s natural beauty.
Inside, the facility features a spacious pool, hot tub, comfortable locker rooms and an inviting fireplace lounge that provides a cozy space to gather after a day on the slopes, trails or golf courses. Just outside the building, two standalone saunas offer a uniquely northern experience, giving guests the chance to unwind in the crisp Iron Range air before returning indoors. A new community room, available for public rental, provides flexible space for birthday parties, gatherings and events – making the facility a resource for both visitors and local residents.
The Pool & Sauna Haus is expected to play an important role in enhancing quality of life and strengthening tourism across northeastern Minnesota. For guests, it delivers a new level of comfort and relaxation that complements Giants Ridge’s reputation for world-class outdoor recreation. For the community, it adds year-round recreational opportunities and a welcoming gathering place that supports family and social life.
