Kraus-Anderson (KA) is celebrating the North High School renovation and new North Career & Technical Education (CTE) Center for Minneapolis Public Schools.
Located at 1500 James Ave. North in Minneapolis, the project demonstrates the school district’s commitment to investing in North High students, North CTE students and the community.
Designed by LSE Architects, the renovation features new academic and athletic areas, a North CTE Center for specialized learning in trade careers, and a central student commons that will become the academic and social heart to the school.
The 282,794-square-foot project includes significant interior renovations to classrooms and program areas, a new media center and areas for drone flying. New spaces in the existing courtyard were completed to support academic programming.
Upgrades were made to the auditorium, lunchroom and kitchen. Additions included a new administration core and secure entrance, single-user restrooms and storm shelter. Mechanical and electrical improvements were also made, and the existing sanitary sewer line was relocated.
Construction began in 2020. KA is finishing renovations to the auditorium this fall and will continue to work on additional interior and mechanical upgrades.
