Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Construction Company will soon begin construction on Third North, a new 266,000-square-foot apartment complex located at 800 N. 3rd Street in downtown Minneapolis. Ground-breaking ceremonies will be held at the site at 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 30.
Designed by Minneapolis-based UrbanWorks Architecture, LLC, the six-story complex features 204 apartment units and two levels of underground parking. The $39 million market-rate project is expected to be completed in December of 2013. The property is being developed by Schafer Richardson, Inc.
Third North’s interior amenities will include a weight and fitness equipment room, group fitness room, conference and computer center, bike shop, dog run, pet grooming room and a community lounge that opens to a courtyard. Select units will feature granite countertops, fireplaces and private balconies. Underground tempered parking and electric vehicle-charging stations will also be available.
Outside, the courtyard will be equipped with a pool, spa, fire pit, lawn game area, built-in grilling stations and LED lighting. Exterior boulevard trees will be planted in a Swedish vault system to conserve water and maximize the health of the trees.
