The Rochester, Minnesota, office of Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has begun a multi-million dollar expansion of the Olmsted County Government Center at 151 Fourth Street SE in Rochester, Minn.
The Government Center building including the courts, which are part of Minnesota’s 3rd Judicial District, will remain fully operational throughout construction. Demolition will be done during evening hours. The Government Center’s business hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Designed by Klein McCarthy Architects of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, the new seven-story addition will also include new stairs and elevators, meeting rooms and interior remodeling on each floor for department growth. The front side of the building will be renovated to make room for the new weapons screening area, which will be located on the second floor above the Information Center.
The 16,500-square-foot addition is expected to be completed in the spring of 2016.
