The Fargo office of Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction on NDSU’s Challey School of Music located on the university’s campus in Fargo. The expansion accommodates the music program’s growth and promotes high-quality teaching, artistic performance, outreach and scholarly excellence through its performance and degree programs.
Designed by Foss Architecture & Interiors, the project features a 9,700-square-foot addition to the existing music building with a 1,000 square-foot rehearsal space, teaching studios and a recording facility. The expansion also includes new practice rooms, offices, extra storage and locker facilities.
The existing Festival Concert Hall was also renovated, adding 989 new seats and acoustical enhancements. The existing facility, known as Challey Hall, received new choral risers, acoustical panels, and updated flooring, ceilings and paint as part of the project.
Construction began in July 2024.
