Kraus-Anderson has completed Phase-1 of a $43 million multi-phase project for Roseau Community Schools in Roseau, Minnesota. Construction began in July of 2020.
This initial phase includes two-story classroom spaces for English, Language and Social Studies along with site improvements. Progress continues on the remaining construction phases, working toward an overall project completion in the Fall of 2022.
The overall project includes the renovation and expansion of the K-12 school complex of Roseau Community Schools located along 3rd Street NE (MN State Highway 11) between 4th and 6th Avenues NE in Roseau.
Designed by JLG Architects, the project consists of 81,000 square feet of new construction and a 60,000-square-foot remodel, providing new spaces for educational programming and activities to improve student learning opportunities.
The high school spaces will feature new classrooms, including Career and Technical Education, a Music Suite for band and choir, Administrative and Common spaces. The project will also provide improved and enlarged Gymnasium spaces to meet physical education, co-curricular and community programming needs.
In addition, aging building and major systems are being replaced, including ventilation, heating, electrical, lighting, roofing, exterior walls and insulation. Improvements will also address Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) deficiencies, safety and security measures, and updates fire and life safety codes.
Modifications being made to the elementary school will include new safety and security improvements at the primary building entrance, and will improve the parent and bus pick-up/drop-off circulation drive area.
