Krusinski Construction Company completed construction of School Health’s LEED-Certified distribution, packaging and office facility at 5600 Apollo Drive in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. School Health, the leading national, full-service provider of health supplies, services and solutions, has relocated its staff and resources to its new two-story, 112,500-square-foot building from Hanover Park, Illinois.
The project included the demolition of an existing building on-site to make room for the ground-up, precast construction. The facility features a cutting-edge warehouse with a fully integrated WMS pick and pack environment, a power-fed system solution conveyor, more than a dozen dock doors, a 32-foot clear-height ceiling and LED lighting.
In addition, the building is comprised of approximately 30,000 square feet of open office for individual and team collaboration. Some of its modern features include a two-story town hall for hosting company gatherings; accent railings with glass panels on the stairs overlooking the two-story open office area concept; a library with sound absorption panels and wood veneered walls; two fireplaces with various breakout stations and an entertainment patio with fire pit, audio and video capabilities.
The project team consisted of Krusinski Construction Company as general contractors, Trammell Crow Company as owner’s representative, Ware Malcomb as architect and SpaceCo, Inc. as civil engineers.
