Kudan Group agents, Juan Carlos Gomez and Jerrod Rosen, negotiated the sale and lease of Kafein at 1621 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. Kafein is located in the heart of Evanston near several retail shops, restaurants and minutes from Northwestern University.
Café Descartes owner, Arshad Javid, and Syed Mohammed Hanif Shah became operators of the Evanston staple. Javid opened Café Descartes in 1991, he has seven locations near Northwestern University’s Chicago campus, University of Illinois at Chicago and Northeastern University.
Juan Carlos Gomez represented both parties at 2054 West Roscoe Street, formerly El Tinajon. The owners of Taste of Cuba Café in Lincolnwood, Guillermo Alvarez, Celestine Reyes, Marco Fernandez and Jamie Alvarez, plan to open a Cuban concept in the restaurant. Taste of Cuba Café is known for its traditional Latin dishes made with the freshest ingredients and flavors. Their Roscoe Village location is slated to open this fall.
