Amped Kitchens, a Los Angeles-based industrial production space, will open their first facility outside of Los Angeles later this year. Amped Kitchens recently purchased the 117,000-square-foot former Zenith Television factory at 5801 W. Dickens Avenue, located in Chicago’s Galewood neighborhood. Kudan Group managing broker, Brian Laskov, represented Amped Kitchens in the transaction.
The commissary space provides both start-up and national brands with a state-of-the-art facility to effectively and efficiently produce goods. The Chicago site will feature 64 pre-approved food production spaces, loading docks, health and safety support, expedited permit processing, logistics, gluten-free, kosher, organic and third-party certifications, as well as an on-site USDA office.
Under the Amped Kitchens concept, food producers rent dedicated commercial kitchen space exclusively for their operation. It is anticipated that the Chicago Amped Kitchens location will add 250 new jobs to the Galewood community.
