Lakeview Pantry held a groundbreaking celebration for its new building Aug. 6, located at 3945 N. Sheridan Ave, after having launched a capital campaign in 2012 to raise more than $3 million to fund the acquisition and build-out of its first permanent home.
With 86 percent of this fundraising goal reached, this celebration and reception recognizes community members who have made this new building possible.
Those in attendence included 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman, Lakeview Pantry executive director, Lakeview Pantry Capital Campaign committee and donars, volunteers and clients. Senator Dick Durbin and Congressman Mike Quigley also joined the celebration.
