LANE4 Property Group today celebrated the opening of the Home2Suites and Applebee’s at University Village in Kansas City, Kansas, with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the development.
The development marks the fifth project completed by LANE4 in the Rosedale neighborhood of Kansas City, KS.
Formerly a blighted retail/ office center, the project is located just north of The University of Kansas Health System at 34th Street and Rainbow Boulevard. Replacing the dilapidated retail center is an 89-room Home2 Suites by Hilton. The long-standing Applebee’s Grill and Bar has reopened with a new format and redesigned restaurant space. The project totals just more than 65,000 square feet.
Home2 Suites caters to long- or short-term guests, and offers en-suite kitchens, spacious sleeping and living areas, in-room work friendly desks and additional amenities. The Rain Home2 Suites is strategically located to serve the growing need for long-term accommodations for hospital patients and families, visiting students and educators, and working professionals in the mid-town and downtown Kansas City area.
In addition to the suite-style rooms, the hotel offers a heated indoor pool, outdoor grill and lounge areas, two meeting and event spaces, free business services, and an innovative guest laundry/ fitness center.
Applebee’s Grill and Bar has also reopened after an extensive interior and exterior remodel. The restaurant was completely remodeled from the floor to the ceiling with new furniture, 16 large-screen HD televisions, and a local décor package that has a true “neighborhood” feel.
Architectural services for the project were provided by Davidson Architecture and Engineering, Crossland Construction served as the General Contractor. Polsinelli provided legal counsel, and financing was provided by Central Bank of Kansas City and Academy Bank.
