Kansas City, Mo.-based LANE4 Property Group will soon start construction of 39Rainbow, a multi-phased, mixed-use development that will be located directly across from the University of Kansas Medical Center and Hospital campus in Kansas City, Kansas.
The project will deliver upscale retail, commercial/medical and hotel components designed in a European Classic style, with both covered and surface parking.
Phase I began the week of March 30 with the demolition of the former Sun Inn Hotel at the southwest corner of Rainbow Boulevard and Marty Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. Building completion is scheduled for spring 2012 and will include about 10,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor and an 83-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites on floors two through four.
“We are pleased to partner with LANE4 to develop and manage this upscale hotel. This location presents a unique opportunity to provide quality lodging options for visitors to the medical campus and surrounding areas,” said Ken Heinz of Lodging One Hospitality.
Current tenants for Phase I include Five Guys, a fast-casual restaurant serving burgers and fries, and Yogurtopia, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, along with several other retailers and restaurants to be announced later.
