Larry Arndt joins Barton Malow Company

As part of Barton Malow Company’s recent growth, the organization recently named Larry Arndt to lead their Chicago office as it continues to build its presence in the area. Arndt is tasked with overseeing the office’s operations, which includes project oversight, business acquisition, project staffing and more.

Through projects at the University of Illinois, the University of Chicago, Soldier Field and Northwestern, Barton Malow has a foundation of proven success in Northeastern Illinois. With Arndt helping lead the company’s operations in the area, he hopes to carry the momentum to a new level.

“My goal is to make Barton Malow the contractor of choice in Chicago,” says Arndt when detailing his mission in his new role. “I want to build on the amazing relationships Barton Malow has in the area, while creating new ones.”

Arndt has been a mainstay in the industry and has showcased his breadth of knowledge throughout previous roles. Having started as an architect focusing on healthcare clients for Brannon and Company, he parlayed his experience into a masters in civil engineering at Bradley University. He then spent 18 years at M.A. Mortenson handling project management and an executive role in work acquisition.

“I wanted to take the next step, and with Barton Malow’s culture and a yearning to grow their business in new and innovative ways, I was ready to hop on board,” Ardnt said of his decision to join Barton Malow. One of the missions Arndt is most excited to handle is building on the team-centric culture at the company. “I want to make our team even more open to collaboration and idea exchanges. Finding solutions is a team effort.”

In addition, Arndt is looking forward to working individually with the members of the company’s Chicago office to help develop and advance their skills. “I want to build opportunities to grow the careers of my team,” he said. “The value of support is undeniable in any workplace.”
