Larson-Danielson Construction joined local officials for a steel topping ceremony at Four Winds Field in South Bend, Indiana. Attendees watched as the final steel beam for the roof of the new upper deck, adorned with signatures, was lifted into place.

The ceremony gathered an impressive crowd, including South Bend Mayor James Mueller, South Bend Cubs owner Andrew Berlin, members of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, and other local and state officials. Mayor James Mueller spoke about the project’s impact on the local community.

“This expansion project stands as a testament to the steadfast dedication of our community and the South Bend Cubs in revitalizing our city and bringing this world-class vision to life,” said Mayor Mueller. “It’s an exciting time for South Bend and I am thrilled to see what this transformation project has in store for the growth of our city and the surrounding neighborhood.”

The project features major upgrades and expansions to enhance the experience for fans and players, solidifying Four Winds Field as a top destination for baseball and community events. Andrew Berlin, Owner of the South Bend Cubs, expressed his excitement for the future, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in driving the city forward.

“This is an exciting day,” Berlin said. “As we approach the midpoint of the renovation here at Four Winds Field, I’m already imagining the memories that will be created for fans in this re-imagined stadium.”

The first phase of the renovation project involves adding a second floor to the concourse to create new suites and party deck space, along with upgrades to the existing Pepsi Club. Work on relocating and enlarging the splash zone is also underway.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the steel topping ceremony for the new upper deck at Four Winds Field, marking a significant milestone in this transformative renovation project,” said Brian Larson, President of Larson-Danielson Construction. “At Larson-Danielson, we take immense pride in contributing to this exciting project that will enhance the South Bend community and create lasting memories for all who visit, and we look forward to seeing this vision come to life.”

Larson-Danielson is the Construction Manager for the two-year, $48 million project . Four Winds Field is owned by the City of South Bend and home to the South Bend Cubs, the High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
