Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council names president

The board of directors of the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, has named Joe Perry as its next president.

Perry will assume his new role on April 1.

Perry is the vice president of real estate and development for Port KC. During the last 14 years in this role, Perry has been involved in more than 70 projects. He played a key role in the development of Berkley Riverfront Park, an 85-acre master-planned community featuring more than $800 million in office, retail, residential, hospitality and cultural amenities.

Perry has also contributed to the growth of a team that has facilitated more than $2.4 billion in investments across Platte, Clay and Jackson counties in Missouri.

Before joining Port KC, Perry served for eight years as the commercial director of Gale Communities in Lee’s Summit.
