Local officials, city staffers and project partners celebrated the ground-breaking in mid-August of The Grove at Lee’s Summit, an upscale mixed-use development in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

The development will also include a light industrial business park, with more than 400,000 square feet of planned space. The site will be the home of a new fire station, too.

The initial phase of construction began the week of Aug. 14, with land-clearing and infrastructure work. This work will support the construction of the development’s first building, a 200,000-square-foot light industrial space south of Bailey Road in the business park.
