Leopardo Companies, Inc. recently completed the University of Chicago Medicine Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park in Orland Park, Illinois.
Located at 143rd Street and LaGrange Road, the 108,000-square-foot ambulatory healthcare facility is currently the University of Chicago Medicine’s largest off-campus location. The center and its services are helping meet the growing healthcare demand of the 120,000 University of Chicago Medicine patients in the southwest suburbs.
The project includes a four-story multi-use building with 80 exam rooms, 26 infusion bays and pharmacy. It provides services in radiation oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, cardiology, women’s health and surgical consulting.
A linear accelerator with concrete vault to block radiation, MRI room with radio frequency and magnetic shielding, as well as spaces equipped for CT enterography (CTE), ultrasound and X-ray were additional project components.
The project was a joint-venture between Leopardo and The Bowa Group, in collaboration with Cambridge, Massachusetts-based architect Tsoi/Kobus & Associates. The center officially opened for business on Dec. 12.
