The on-site sales center is now open at Lexington Oaks, Chicago-based Lexington Homes’ newest townhome development in Palatine, Ill. Construction of the community’s 15 townhomes has commenced with first deliveries expected in spring 2015.
Located on Northwest Highway/Route 14, a quarter-mile west of Smith Road and a half-mile east of Quentin Road, Lexington Oaks is near downtown Palatine, less than a mile from Palatine’s central business district and the Palatine Metra station.
“Lexington Oaks is in a coveted infill location,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “Not only does Lexington Oaks back up to the Palatine Hills Golf Course, but it is also close to downtown Palatine, providing a convenient mix of residential, commercial and open space. “Now that we have our on-site sales center open, buyers can see just how centrally located Lexington Oaks is to just about any kind of shopping, dining or recreational experience. Combine that with Palatine’s hometown charm and you have a perfect location for young couples looking to move from the city or empty-nesters looking to downsize,” added Benach. Lexington Oaks offers two-story townhomes in two floor plan designs with three bedrooms, 2½ baths, basements, backyard decks and two-car garages. Based-priced from $336,990, the homes measure approximately 1,829 to 1,834 square feet.
An award-winning Chicago builder, Lexington Homes knows what it takes to appeal to today’s savvy buyers. “Both floor plans at Lexington Oaks are designed to use space more efficiently and provide open, flexible areas so buyers can adapt their homes to meet their specific needs,” said Benach.
For example, Lexington Oaks’ Hickory plan, which includes a first-floor master suite with a walk-in closet and private master bath, also has two generous-sized bedrooms and a large loft on the second floor. Benach notes the loft is a great space that can be used as a home office, media lounge, library or craft space.
“The first-floor master suite has been a big draw for a variety of buyers. While it’s natural for empty-nesters to prefer this layout, we’re also seeing families and couples drawn to the convenience of having the master bedroom on the same floor as the main living space,” said Benach. “Plus, buyers like having space for a designated dining room. A lot of townhomes with a first-floor master lose the dining room, but not this one.”
Convenience was also top of mind with the Cypress plan, in which all three bedrooms are located on the second floor, including a large master suite with an oversized walk-in closet and master bath, plus a large upstairs laundry room. Downstairs, the spacious living area in the Cypress is anchored by a large eat-in kitchen that opens to a great room, providing the perfect layout for entertaining family and guests.
The Cypress also includes extra details, like the option for a built-in desk and buffet in the kitchen, as well as additional storage space. “There are coat closets at both the garage entry and front door entry, and upstairs there is a hall storage closet and linen closets in the two bathrooms. Having that much storage space is not common in most townhome configurations,” said Benach.
Another popular feature for both floor plans is the finished basement, which is designed as a family room and includes the option for a full bath. According to Benach, this space can easily be converted into a variety of other uses, be it a home office or gym for adults, or a playroom, gaming/media room or study room for children.
Lexington Homes is also known for including high-end finishes in its homes that most builders would consider upgrades. At Lexington Oaks, for example, both floor plans include hardwood flooring throughout the entire main floor.
All kitchen countertops are granite, including the breakfast bars, which provide generous seating space for eating and entertaining. Additionally, each home’s master bath features a granite-topped double-bowl vanity and soaking tub and/or walk-in shower.
Additional standard features in Lexington Oaks homes include energy-efficient stainless steel GE appliances and 42-inch upper kitchen cabinets.
Just 30 miles from Chicago’s Loop and 14 miles from O’Hare International Airport, Lexington Oaks offers a convenient location for buyers looking for a community with a small-town feel but with easy access to the city. The community is located in the renowned Community Consolidated School District 15, a winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a prestigious award few school districts in the nation have won.
