Liberty Property Trust announced that it has signed an agreement with long-time tenant UTi, which will be expanding into approximately 200,000 square feet of industrial space at 300 Mitchell Road in North Aurora. UTi will be the first tenant at the 429,000 square foot, newly complete building located in Liberty Business Center, North Aurora.
Since 2007, UTi Worldwide has occupied 592,000 square feet at 800 Bilter Road in Liberty Business Center, Aurora. The company’s expansion into the new facility will begin this month and bring its total space commitment with Liberty to approximately 800,000 square feet.
The new building at 300 Mitchell Road is designed to achieve LEED® certification, features 54′ x 52′ typical bays with a 75′ loading bay, 36′ clear ceiling height, energy efficient T-5 fluorescent fixtures with motion sensors, Early Suppression Fast Response fire suppression system and precast concrete construction.
Liberty Business Center, North Aurora is an expansion of Liberty Business Center in nearby Aurora. The new facility is the first of three buildings planned for the 81-acre park positioned conveniently at the intersection of Mitchell Road and Interstate 88 in North Aurora. In total, the park will consist of nearly 1.5 million square feet with sites accommodating 600,000 and 700,000 square foot build-to-suit opportunities. Along the Corridor of I-88, Liberty owns more than four million square feet of class A industrial space, making it one of the counties largest landlords.
