M & J Wilkow announces new hires and promotion

Chicago real estate firm M & J Wilkow continues its strategic growth with the announcement of two new hires to its growing Retail and Office Real Estate Portfolio team as well as the promotion of Darcy Rutzen to the position of Senior Vice President of Retail and Marketing.

Christina Carabez has joined M & J Wilkow, Ltd. as Operations Manager for the Office Property Management Group, where she will help drive the expansion of the Company’s property management services, tenant relations programs and sustainability initiatives. Chris brings over nineteen years of Property Management experience to her new role, including six years as an Assistant Property Manager for J&J ARNACO, and three years as Property Manager for Tawani Property Management.

Laura Murphy has joined as M & J Wilkow’s new Director of Retail Construction where she will oversee all construction, capital and redevelopment activities for M & J Wilkow’s portfolio of open-air shopping centers throughout the United States.  Laura brings more than twenty-two years of retail construction, property management and consulting experience to her new role.  Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, Laura owned and operated her own tenant coordination and construction company where she provided services to top real estate companies including Simon Property Group, Westfield and PREIT.

In addition to the Company’s new hires, Darcy Rutzen has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Retail and Marketing. Since joining M & J Wilkow in 2015, Darcy has helped to drive growth of the Company’s marketing and retail property management platforms.  As Senior Vice President of Retail and Marketing, Darcy will oversee all operations and marketing management for M & J Wilkow’s retail properties throughout the United States, as well as the M & J Wilkow brand.  Darcy holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and is a frequent speaker on topics including branding and placemaking in the retail industry.
