Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of The Edwards Building, a 18,506-square foot office property located in Springfield, Illinois, according to Steven D. Weinstock, regional manager and first vice president of the firm’s Chicago Oak Brook office. The asset sold for $725,000.
Tammy A. Saia, first vice president, and Tami Andrew, associate, and investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Chicago Oak Brook office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private investor. The buyer, a private investor, was secured and represented by Saia and Andrew.
The Edwards Building is located at 528 S. 5th Street, blocks from the state capitol building. After multiple offers, a Pennsylvania buyer was procured. The major tenant in this building is a tenant in another property the buyer owns, which made this deal more appealing.
