Marcus & Millichap recently brokered the sale of two separate multifamily properties in Chicago, one on the North Side and another on the city’s West Side.
In the first transaction, 6336 N. Magnolia Avenue, a four-unit apartment property located in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood sold for $700,000.
Anthony Catanese and James Ziegler, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Chicago Downtown office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private investor. The buyer, a private investor, was secured and represented by Catanese and Ziegler.
The property was 100 percent occupied at the time of sale with a unit mix consisting of four two-bedroom/one-bathroom units that measured 1,500 square feet each. The property is walking distance to Loyola University and features large unit layouts with on-site laundry and garage parking.
Separately, the firm brokered the $1,125,000 sale of 5256 W. North Avenue, a 14,000-square-foot, mixed-use property located in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.

The subject property is a very well-maintained, 18-unit, mixed use property that was constructed in 1927. The unit mix consists of three first floor commercial spaces, eight one-bedroom/one-bathroom units and seven two-bedroom/one-bathroom units. The apartments have been renovated over the past five years.
