Matt Pistorio has joined Chicago-based developer R2 Companies. In his new role as a principal, Pistorio will handle leasing for the firm’s Midwestern portfolio, which includes the massive redevelopments planned for Goose Island.
Most recently, Pistorio had been a principal at The Telos Group. Prior to that, he worked at JF McKinney & Associates before the firm was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield, where he worked in the agency leasing/tenant rep brokerage.
Among the transactions that Pistorio helped to facilitate on behalf of the Telos Group include representing Third Millennium Group in bringing Peapod to downtown Chicago, the corporate relocation of Kemper Corporation to the Aon Center and the first lease in the redeveloping Old Post Office for Walgreens. The last two transactions were on the behalf of 601W Companies and the Walgreens lease earned Pistorio and his team a 2018 NAIOP Chicago Award for Excellence for Broker Transaction of the Year—Downtown Office.
R2 Companies has made a series of acquisitions on Goose Island and at other North Branch locations that it believes are primed for redevelopment. This includes the 4.25-acre Morton Salt site which they plan to turn into a mixed-use office/retail/entertainment use.
