MB Real Estate is participating in “Teal Lights” awareness and celebration campaign for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Between Sept. 3 and Sept. 27, 181 W. Madison will use teal lighting to promote the NOCC’s mission of spreading ovarian cancer education and awareness.
The mission of the NOCC is to raise awareness and promote education about ovarian cancer, and to improve the survival rate and quality of life for women with ovarian cancer. In women ages 35-74, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths. More than 20,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 15,000 women die annually from the disease.
Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in their later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early, the five-year survival rate is more than 90 percent making it imperative that early signs and symptoms are recognized.
“We are proud to support the NOCC and its Teal Lights campaign,” said Kevin Purcell, EVP/COO of MB Real Estate. “The Illinois Chapter of the NOCC does a great deal to promote awareness and recognition of ovarian cancer while supporting survivors and their families throughout the state.”
