MB Real Estate receives Global Impact Award from buildOn

MB Real Estate Inc. announded that the firm was honored with the Global Impact Award, as well as with an award for their corporate partnership with the buildOn program.

The awards were presented at the 2015 buildOn breakfast hosted at the Hilton Chicago on Wednesday, May 27. Peter Ricker, chairman and CEO of the firm was on-hand to accept the Global Impact Award and Krystal Kurinsky, senior vice president and buildOn volunteer for 10 years accepted the award for MBRE’s corporate participation.

The buildOn Chicago Breakfast has been the premier fundraising celebration for buildOn’s Chicago programs. This event, which has raised more than $5 million since inception, brings together over 600 influential Chicago business leaders to celebrate and highlight the accomplishments of local buildOn students who are changing their communities through service. To date, buildOn students in Chicago have contributed over 270,000 hours of service to their neighborhoods, including more than 45,000 hours of service in 2014.

MB Real Estate is a long-time supporter of buildOn. The organization’s Chairman and CEO Peter Ricker is a founding board member of the non-profit, formerly known as Building with Books, and responsible for launching the Chicago chapter. Since its inception, buildOn Chicago runs 33 programs in 13 high schools, many of them situated in Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods. Students in these programs have volunteered more than 227,375 hours at senior centers, working in urban greenhouses, and restoring local parks, among other initiatives.
