McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announced the appointment of Steve Miller to safety director of the firm’s Central Division, a reflection of McCarthy’s industry-leading commitment to safety in construction.
In this role, Miller will oversee all aspects of the Central Division’s ongoing commitment to creating the nation’s safest work environment for its employees, subcontractors and project partners.
His duties include safety training, pre-project safety planning, injury and accident management, conducting project inspections, tracking reporting compliance, safety resource hiring and placement, and overseeing injury and accident management. He will also serve on McCarthy’s Central Division leadership team to drive advancements in safety management practices.
A 16-year industry veteran, Miller has spent the majority of his construction career with McCarthy. In 2006, he was promoted to Director of Safety for MC Industrial, an independent McCarthy company.
Miller is a member of the St. Louis Associated General Contractors Safety and Health Committee, the Association of Union Contractors Safety and Health Committee, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the National Safety Council.
