McCownGordon Construction purchased the building it’s been leasing space in for the last few years in the heart of Wichita, Kansas’, Old Town business district.
The 23,000-square-foot building at 255 N. Mead St. originally served as a Coleman factory before eventually being converted into an office building.
“As a 100% employee-owned business it was important to all our associates to make this purchase. The investment demonstrates our commitment to serving Wichita and the surrounding region for the long term. The building also provides us the flexibility to accommodate our growing workforce.” said Mitch Binns, market leader for McCownGordon’s Wichita office.
The company currently occupies 11,500 square feet on the building’s second story. It will continue to lease the first floor to the AGC of Kansas, Signal Theory and Ad Astra Financial Group. Prior to taking occupancy in August of 2021, McCownGordon remodeled the entire second floor and the space Signal Theory currently leases. The purchase also includes a portion of the parking lot south of the building.
