McHugh Construction, one of the Midwest’s largest commercial contractors, has hired Tina Paries, a leading construction attorney, as general counsel. With more than 20 years of experience in the legal field focusing on the construction industry, Paries will oversee the legal and compliance functions for McHugh Construction. Paries’ responsibilities will include negotiating client contracts, vendor and supplier agreements, federal and state compliance matters, and labor negotiations.
Paries was most recently with the construction group at Robbins Dimonte, Ltd., where she worked on a variety of commercial construction projects here and around the country. Prior to that, Paries worked in the construction and commercial litigation groups at various firms representing commercial property owners, general contractors and developers in various transactional and legal disputes.
Paries has a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Northern Illinois University, and a JD degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is a member of multiple professional associations, including the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys, the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois, the Federation of Women’s Contractors and the Chicago Bar Association. Paries was rated an Illinois Super Lawyer in Construction Law in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
