McShane Construction Co. has been selected to provide comprehensive construction services for Greenleaf Manor, an affordable housing development on behalf of Daveri Development Group LLC. The new residential complex will be located on Sanders Road between Milwaukee Avenue and Willow Road in Glenview, a northwest suburban community of Chicago.
This project signifies McShane’s second construction assignment from Daveri as the firm is currently completing the developer’s 39-unit Myers Place supportive housing complex in Mount Prospect.
The 20-unit townhome development consists of three residential buildings in a two- and three-story format. The complex will feature an attractive wood frame and James Hardie fiber cement siding exterior together with generous window lines. Ten two-bedroom, five three-bedroom and five four-bedroom floor plans with in-unit laundry and integrated garages at ground level will be constructed.
The development will be constructed to meet Enterprise Green Communities standards featuring numerous sustainable elements such as Energy Star appliances, energy efficient HVAC systems and low VOC materials. McShane’s assignment also incorporates all site work including sidewalks, community garden areas and 35 garage parking spaces together with an additional 14 parking spaces for visitors and guests.
Groundbreaking for Greenleaf Manor took place in December 2012 following McShane’s demolition of the existing structures on the site. The project will reach completion in October 2013. The Illinois Housing Development Authority allocated low income housing tax credits to the project in the financing of the development.
Cordogan, Clark & Associates is providing the comprehensive architectural services and Manhard Consulting Ltd. is providing the civil engineering for this affordable housing assignment.
