McShane Construction Co. has been selected to provide comprehensive new construction and renovation services for Eden Supportive Living, a new 150-unit studio and one-bedroom supportive living development located at 222 N. State St. in Champaign. Under development by Eden Supportive Living, the residential complex will provide supportive housing and services for individuals living with physical disabilities between the ages of 22 to 64 years. Supportive living communities fill the gap between skilled care and independent living environments with residents living independently yet able to utilize additional support services and resources that are available, if needed.
McShane Construction will utilize the structure and framing of the existing five-story Robeson’s Inc. building located on the site as the base structure for the eight-story residence. The construction assignment will add three additional floors to the existing five-story building while also expanding the facility with the addition of a new 40,000-square-foot, eight-story tower that will be located at the north end of the property.
The completed residential facility will incorporate 117,000 square feet of living and amenity space to support 150 residents. McShane Construction will also complete a modern two-story glass atrium, a waterfall cascade near the main entrance and a reflection pond. Residents of Eden Supportive Living will enjoy multiple lounges, full-service kitchen and dining, library, theatre, cyber café, activity center, medical suite and laundry facility. Housing, nursing support, wellness programs, daily meals and 24-hour emergency support will also be available to the residents.
