Carmel, Indiana-based Merchants Bank of Indiana hired John Douglas as assistant vice president in the bank’s Correspondent and Warehouse Lending divisions. Douglas will join this growing segment of Merchants’ lending platform remotely in New Jersey.
Prior to joining Merchants Bank, Douglas served as President and CEO of eWise Home Lending, a company he founded. eWise Home Lending grew into a fully operational mortgage platform with a full suite of products, licensed in 10 states.
In his new role, Douglas will work closely with the Correspondent Operations and Warehouse Sales teams to generate new clients and cultivate relationships with existing clients.
In addition to his time with eWise Home Lending, Douglas held managerial positions at various national mortgage correspondent lenders including IMPAC Mortgage Corp, Arc Home Loans, Homeward Residential Capital and more.
Douglas is an active member of the New Jersey Mortgage Broker/Banker Association and has participated in several MBA committees. He is a graduate of Catholic University.
