Meridian Design Build recently completed construction of a 112,500-square-foot truck terminal for CenterPoint Properties in Joliet, Illinois. The new facility is located on a 46.37 acre redevelopment site within the CenterPoint Business Center I-80.
The new truck terminal includes 17,930 square feet of office space, 169 loading positions and two drive-in doors. An adjacent, 22,176-square-foot maintenance building features 17 fully equipped service bays, a truck wash bay and a freestanding, 3,000-square-foot fuel/lubrication island. Additional construction includes 276 auto parking stalls, 301 trailer storage positions and 129 tractor stalls.
Demolition of existing underground utilities, building slabs and foundations was completed as a part of the project scope. Architectural and structural design services were provided by Cornerstone Architects while Manhard Consulting completed the civil engineering design.
