Meridian Design Build broke ground in early November on a 70,411 SF expansion to an existing 224,833 SF ground distribution and package sorting center in Romeoville, IL. The expansion, Meridian’s ninth project for Indianapolis based developer Scannell Properties, is being constructed on a build-to-suit basis to accommodate the growing needs of Scannell’s tenant, a leading global provider of shipping and information services.
The expansion will add 3,442 SF of new office space and 95 interior van loading positions, increasing capacity at the facility by nearly 50%. Site modifications will include 185 new auto parking stalls and 69 additional trailer stalls. Construction is expected to be completed in late summer 2015.
Precept Design, LLC is acting as project architect, civil engineering work is being completed by Jacob & Hefner Associates.
