Meritex has sold its Spiegel II industrial property in Columbus, Ohio, to an affiliate of Pinchal & Company, a Houston-based real estate investment company.
The development contains 250,685 square feet of space. The slanted and angled precast wall elements, curtainwall entryways and extensive landscaping set the building apart from other projects of its type.
Meritex originally acquired the land in 2010 and held the site until market conditions were optimal to satisfy customer demand. The project is currently 100 percent leased and occupied.
Construction on the Spiegel II development began in November of 2017 and was completed in August of 2018. The property was named the NAIOP Columbus Industrial Project of the Year upon completion. Just before the sale, the remaining space at Spiegel II was leased by the state of Ohio for the storage of PPE to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The state uses 147,175 square feet of space in a temperature-controlled setting.
Spiegel II is located in the Rickenbacker Industrial Park on a 16-acre site at the intersection of Alum Creek Road and Spiegel Drive.
