Local Mexican restaurant Hamburguesas El Gordo recently signed a lease at 161 Victoria St. in St. Paul, Minnesota’s, Summit-University neighborhood.
The new restaurant will be located on the corner of Selby and Victoria. With a planned opening of spring 2020, this will be Hamburguesas El Gordo’s third Twin Cities location. The restaurant will occupy the space adjacent to J. Selby’s, formerly occupied by Tori Ramen.
The new Selby and Victoria location is central to the restaurant’s two other locations. The restaurant chain currently has a location in West St. Paul and one in Minneapolis.
With a large social media following and a loyal customer base, Hamburguesas El Gordo serves Mexican burgers, hot dogs, handmade tortilla tacos and soups, along with a full range of Mexican dishes. The new location will be modestly sized, and the restaurant will host sit-down customers as well as continue to run its takeout and delivery business.
