Michigan’s Red Oak names president and chief operating officer

Paul Cleary

Red Oak, a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based commercial real estate finance company, has named Paul Cleary as president and chief operating officer. Cleary brings nearly 25 years of national commercial real estate lending experience having held leadership positions at lenders including securitization, private credit and regulated institutions.

Prior to joining Red Oak, Cleary most recently served in a leadership role at Parkview Financial, a national private mid-market commercial real estate lender specializing in construction lending. He was previously chief operating officer at Money360, a mid-balance bridge lender, where he was instrumental in developing the company’s technology platform and implementing operational efficiencies.

In past roles, Cleary served as Executive Vice President, Loan Production at Cherrywood Commercial Lending, LLC; Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending at Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Senior Vice President, Operations and Credit at Impac Commercial Capital Corporation.

Cleary earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, a juris doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
