Indiana-based Shoe Carnival Inc. recently leased 10,072 square feet of space at Shops at South Elgin in Chicago’s west suburbs. According to Mid-America Asset Management Inc. Principal Richard Spinell, whose firm represents the center, the publicly held retailer plans to open in spring 2013. Mid-America Vice President Barb Kading completed the lease on behalf of the landlord, while Marlon Stone of Colliers International represented the tenant.
Shoe Carnival is a retailer of value-priced family footwear and accessories, operating stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Shops at South Elgin is a 164,502-square-foot shopping center located on the northwest corner of Randall and McDonald roads. Shoe Carnival is taking space formerly occupied by Famous Footwear and joins Kohl’s, T.J.Maxx, Pier 1 Imports, Petco and the newly expanded Fruitful Yield Health Foods.
