Chicago-based Mid-America Real Estate Corporation announced that its tenant representation division will be lead by partners Willie Hoag and Dan Tausk. The pair will run the 30-year old, 18-member Chicago tenant representation team, focused primarily on Chicagoland, downstate Illinois and northwest Indiana. They will also work in conjunction with Mid-America’s other Midwest offices in Milwaukee, Detroit and Minneapolis.
Hoag is a Partner at Mid-America with nearly 14 years of experience. He specializes in tenant representation throughout the suburban markets of Chicago and downstate Illinois. Additionally, he is the master broker directing national site selection for multiple medical-retail tenants. Hoag has coordinated efforts for mid box and small shop retail tenants alike new to the Chicago market, as well as existing expanding retailers who seek to re-brand themselves through their real estate efforts. His long-time clients include tenants as diverse as LA Fitness and Aspen Dental.
Tausk is a 20+ year retail specialist with Mid-America and has been partner since 2011. He specializes in Chicago’s diverse urban neighborhoods and the near surrounding suburbs. His most recent venture was starting the Mid-America medical retail division in 2014 which, with the help of Hoag, has grown in revenue each year since inception.
This pair is tasked with maintaining Mid-America’s tenant representation of national and regional retailers. They will oversee the pursuit of new market entries to Chicago, and the emerging business lines in retail such as medical, entertainment and food and beverage. As the environment of consolidation and downsizing continues, and fewer retailers roll out significant waves of new stores, Hoag and Tausk will be responsible for maintaining Mid-America’s 30 years of retail excellence.
