Sterling Bay and Mid-America Real Estate Corporation have linked-up in a partnership that names Mid-America the leasing agent for the developer’s retail portfolio.
Mid-America Principal, Paul Bryant, and Vice President, Andrew Becker, will join Sterling Bay Vice President and head of retail leasing, Jessica McLinden Brown, in leading the lease-up of the majority of the firm’s retail space throughout Chicago.
Bryant and Becker’s support in Chicago will be vital as Sterling Bay begins its national expansion, with McLinden Brown overseeing Sterling Bay’s retail strategy not only in Chicago, but in new markets like Miami, Portland and Nashville, among others.
Bryant and Becker are already familiar with Sterling Bay’s platform, having leased 1000 West Randolph and 945 West Randolph alongside McLinden Brown. The trio has completed several retail leases already in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood with Starbucks Reserve, Anthropologie, Sweetgreen, Umami Burger and Nando’s Peri Peri.
With deep roots in retail, Bryant and Becker bring impressive credentials to the Sterling Bay team. Over the last five years they have partnered on nearly 30 transactions valued at $110 million, including deals with Champs Sports for its flagship location on State Street and Labriola Café on Michigan Avenue.
