Ohio-based DSW Inc. signed a lease for 28,000 square feet of space at River Forest Town Center in Chicago’s west suburbs, according to Richard Spinell, principal of Mid-America Asset Management Inc., the Oakbrook Terrace-based firm representing the center. The publicly held shoe retailer is taking space vacated by Linens ‘n Things and plans to open in fall 2012 as a new anchor joining The Children’s Place, The Loft, Chico’s, Whole Foods, Panera Bread, Petco and Walgreens.
Mid-America Vice President Liz Krebs represented the landlord in the lease, while Mike Schertler of Tartan Realty and Scott Stefanik at Midwest Commercial Realty represented the tenant.
In other leasing news at the center, Chico’s renewed its lease for 2,680 square feet and Panera Bread renewed its lease for 4,500 square feet.
River Forest Center is located at the southwest corner of Lake Street and Harlem Avenue in River Forest and is situated approximately one mile north of the Eisenhower/Harlem Avenue interchange.
