Milwaukee-based The Barry Company won the Industrial Deal of the Year award and was runner-up for the Development Deal of the Year award presented at the 2018 Commercial Association of Realtors of Wisconsin Deal of the Year Awards and Annual Meeting.
The meeting was held Oct. 24 at the Grain Exchange in Milwaukee.
David Buckley, Kevin Barry, Kurt Van Dyke and Jim Barry III with The Barry Company won the Industrial Deal of the Year award for their involvement in Blast Cleaning Technologies’ lease of 127,000 square feet in the former Allis Chalmers facility at 6682 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Allis, Wisconsin.
The transaction was one of the largest industrial lease deals in Wisconsin in 2018 and included economic incentives and loan programs as well as a tenant investment of more than $2 million to upgrade the older industrial space to modern standards.
David Barry and Kevin Barrywere runner-up for the Development Deal of the Year award for selling the 3.1-acre former Francis Borgia school and rectory site in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, to HSI Aarrabelle, LLC. The site will be developed into a $16 million residential campus featuring three-story apartment buildings and two-story townhomes.
