Minneapolis’ Colliers Mortgage adds SVP of affordable production

Tabaré Borbón

Tabaré Borbón has Minneapolis-based Colliers Mortgage as senior vice president, affordable production.

He will be located in New York where he will focus on originating multifamily affordable housing loans nationwide.

Borbón brings more than 30 years of experience and has closed billions of dollars in agency loans throughout his career, ranking in the top 10 for Fannie Mae Multifamily Affordable Housing Originators in both 2020 and 2021. 

Experience in his previous roles includes origination of multifamily affordable loans guaranteed by the Government Sponsored Entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, along with multifamily loans through the Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) program. In addition, Borbón originated and developed financing solutions for clients to gain low-cost access to the capital markets through public and private placement of tax-exempt and taxable debt. 

Borbón holds a Master of Arts, Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts, Sociology from State University of New York at Stonybrook.
