Minneapolis’ CSM Corporation and its employees raised $154,291 for Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest. CSM Cares co-chairs Brad Kittleson and Michael Clark presented the check to Jill Evenocheck, president and chief executive officer of RMHC, Upper Midwest, on Feb. 2 at CSM headquarters in Minneapolis.
“Every year, our employees volunteer of themselves to help others in the community,” said Gary Holmes, CSM President and CEO. “They volunteered more than 1,000 hours and organized several events throughout the year to raise awareness and support for RMHC, Upper Midwest. Their hard work and generosity has made this donation possible.”
CSM is one of the top three contributors to RMHC, Upper Midwest and remains one of the top corporate contributors nationally to the organization’s more than 550 locations. Most recently, CSM organized and hosted the 8th Annual Shop & Sip event benefitting RMHC, Upper Midwest. The annual event welcomed nearly 500 attendees, who spent the night bidding on more than 350 silent auction items. CSM also leveraged the grand opening of its newest hotel, Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown, to donate a portion of the bar’s profits from its opening week. Monies raised from these events, along with CSM’s other fundraising efforts, play a significant role in increasing awareness and financial support for RMHC.
RMHC, Upper Midwest, in partnership with the community, provides a comfortable and caring home-away-from-home that keeps families together and reduces stress during a child’s serious illness. Each year RMHC, Upper Midwest serves more than 4,000 families at its four Twin Cities locations. Close to 80 percent of the families are from the Upper Midwest, with the rest coming from other regions of the U.S. and across the globe.
