Kim Hofstede, managing director of portfolio management for Minneapolis’ Founders Properties, has been promoted to president, where she’ll oversee the firm’s day-to-day operations, including asset management, dispositions, and finance/accounting.

Wade Lau, who previously served as both president and CEO, remains chief executive officer and serves on the board of directors.

Founders is a real estate sector specialist focused on infill industrial buildings under 300,000 square feet. Hofstede and Lau will partner on current and future fundraising efforts to attract capital to invest in these assets.

Since joining Founders in 2016, Hofstede has completed over $2 billion in property dispositions and financings. Prior to joining Founders, she was a vice president at Carlson Real Estate Company, where she was involved in acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management. She has over 20 years of real estate investment experience.

Hofstede is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Pension Real Estate Association, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, and a past President and current member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Minnesota Chapter. She was recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as a 40 under 40 Honoree in 2020.
