Minneapolis’ Kraus-Anderson Insurance adds benefits advisors

Kraus-Anderson Insurance, a Minneapolis-based provider of commercial insurance and risk management services, hired two insurance veterans to bolster its growing Employee Benefits and Human Resources consulting business.  Andrew McDonough and Andy Podmolik have been named benefits advisors.

As benefits advisors, McDonough and Podmolik will provide personalized guidance, helping clients understand complex coverage and funding options, maximize benefits and make informed decisions, which can lead to better plan utilization and improved health and financial outcomes for KA Insurance’s clients.

Andrew McDonough

McDonough began his career at Marsh McLennan Agency, advising small to mid-sized employers across the state.  He later joined Surest, UnitedHealthcare’s fastest growing health plan, where he led sales with large, national self-funded and fully insured employers and led the rollout of a level-funded product designed for the small group market across the Upper Midwest.  McDonough received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Minnesota.

Andy Podmolik

Podmolik brings more than 17 years of experience in employee benefits to KA Insurance.  He played a pivotal role in launching the Benefits practice at Huntington Insurance in Minnesota. He also spent over 11 years as a leading ancillary consultant at MetLife, following his early career in marketing at Associated Financial Group and underwriting at Principal Financial Group.  Podmolik received his bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  He serves on the board of the Laker Educational Foundation.
