Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Companies named Audra Williams as general counsel. She succeeds Tom Wratkowski, who is retiring.

As the leader of the company’s legal function, Williams will develop and implement legal strategy for the entire Kraus-Anderson enterprise and will oversee legal services to Kraus-Anderson’s operating businesses, with particular emphasis on real estate, construction and insurance matters.

Williams brings a depth of relevant experience to this role, having served as in-house counsel to Ryan Companies US, LLC since 2011.  As Ryan’s Associate General Counsel since 2020, she has executed company-wide strategic plans and performed legal work across the company’s portfolio of real estate asset classes, including retail, multi-family, senior living, industrial and build-to-suit projects.  Prior to joining Ryan Companies, Audra was an attorney for Dorsey & Whitney LLP, practicing in its real estate department.

Williams holds a B.A. in Art History and English from the University of Minnesota and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.  She is also Certified as a Real Estate Specialist from the Minnesota Bar Association.  Williams has served as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law, and as a legal writing instructor at the University of Minnesota.  She is on the board of Franklin Center and previously volunteered at Simpson Housing Services, Emergency Food Shelf Network, Saint Paul Academy and Lyndale Community School.
